“I believe in finding balance between your physical, mental, social, and spiritual self. The Biopsychosocial-Spiritual approach helps by making small but meaningful steps toward a more empowered state of self.”
Troy Benallie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with children 6 and older, teens, adults, couples, and families at Gold Counseling's Kaysville office and by telehealth.
Troy came to the mental health field through a residential treatment center, where he worked with teens for several years. That experience led him to Utah State University, where he earned his master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Trained in a systems approach, Troy looks at the family and social circles around each person, which shifts how both problems and solutions are seen. He enjoys helping relationships work through the difficult to get to a healthy place, and helping people discover better ways to connect and communicate.

“When problems feel big, I admit to myself that they probably are big, which means they’ll still be there if I take a break. I grab a bite to eat to fuel my brain, get my body moving, then take a deep breath and face the problem, knowing I’ve prepared as best I can.”
“I love outdoor activities and endurance sports, my favorite of which is mountain biking. If I’m breathing hard, I’m present and happy.”
